Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK) announced house sales statistics for July. Housing sales across Turkey decreased by 53.0 percent in July compared to the same month of the previous year and became 107 thousand 785. Istanbul had the highest share in house sales with 18,884 house sales and 17.5 percent. Mortgage housing sales amounted to 20 thousand 553 in July.
In the January-July period, house sales decreased by 22.7 percent to 660 thousand 595 compared to the same period of the previous year, while mortgaged house sales decreased by 68.6 percent to 124 thousand 721, while other sales types increased by 17.3 percent to 535 thousand 874.
According to the number of sales, Istanbul was followed by Ankara with 10 thousand 605 house sales and 9.8% share, and İzmir with 5 thousand 782 sales and 5.4% share.
