In the second quarter of the year, Turkey’s tourism revenue exceeded 3 billion dollars. The total tourism income in the first six months was 5.4 billion dollars. TURKSTAT published the tourism statistics for the second quarter.Accordingly, Turkey’s revenue was 3.3 billion dollars in the second quarter of 2021, which consisted of April, May, and June. 73.1 percent of tourism income came from foreign visitors and 26.9 percent from citizen visitors residing abroad. Visitors organized their travels with personal or package tours. 2.43 billion dollars of the expenditures made in this quarter were personal expenditures, and 5.67 million were package tour expenditures.

As seen in the table above, the income data in question could not be published in the second quarter of last year due to coronavirus measures.
However, compared to the pre-coronavirus period, tourism revenues decreased by 62.3% in the second quarter of this year compared to the same period of 2019.
